空間再生: 도시의 빈칸에 대하여
본 프로젝트는 도시의 변화를 주제로, 한국의 쇠퇴한 도시 공간이 다시 쓰이는 과정을 시각적으로 아카이빙한 작업입니다.2014년 이후 한국의 124개 지역이 쇠퇴 지역으로 분류되었으며, 인구 감소와 산업 구조의 변화, 생활 기반의 약화로 인해 도시는 점차 비워지고 있습니다. 이 ‘도시의 빈칸(Urban Void)’은 단순한 결핍이 아니라, 다시 채워야 할 사회적 과제로 남아 있습니다. 본 작업은 대한민국의 도시가 어떻게 성장하고 쇠퇴했으며, 또다시 재생을 통해 새로운 생명을 얻어가는지를 기록함으로써, 도시가 품은 시간의 층위와 회복의 가능성을 하나의 시각적 서사로 제시합니다.
This project explores the transformation of Korean cities, visually archiving how declining urban spaces are being redefined and reused. Since 2014, 124 areas have been classified as declining regions due to population loss, industrial change, and weakened infrastructure. These “Urban Voids” are not mere absences but challenges that invite renewal. By tracing how cities grow, decline, and regenerate, this work reveals the layered temporality and resilience of the urban landscape.
