신화란 우주의 기원, 초자연의 존재의 계보, 민족의 시원 등과 관련된 신에 대한 서사적 이야기입니다. 주로 ‘세상은 왜 이런가’에 대하여 설명하고 있으며 일종의 현대의 과학과 같이 세상의 이치를 설명하는 이론이라고 할 수 있습니다. 따라서 생명의 근원, 어둠, 사랑과 같은 추상적 개념이 신으로 의인화 됩니다. 인간의 입에서 입으로, 기록으로 전해져 내려오는 신화들은 인간의 욕망, 소망을 담고 있으며 신화 속의 신들이 만드는 세상은 결국 인간이 영위하며 살아가게 됩니다. 신화의 명맥이 끊긴 지금, 현대인들은 어떤 신을 필요로 하고 미래 세대에게 어떤 신을 남기고 싶을까요?
